Each region in Australia is known for something in particular and in Daylesford Victoria you will find lots of day spas. In fact, it is a small village that is nestled deep inside the day spa country in this area. You will find heritage when you go to the bed and breakfasts in Daylesford as they reflect the time when people used to go to spas as a pastime.
Just as in the past people came to this area to rest and relax while they rejuvenated in the mineral springs. Today, people come for the same reason and but now they can also shop, take part in many activities and have a wonderful bed and breakfast to stay in.
Accommodation in Daylesford
Although you could stay in hotels, a more quaint way to explore the area is to stay at one of several Daylesford b&bs for a taste of the real country area. You could stay at the Cherry Tree Cottage of Daylesford which is in the middle of the town. They provide a wonderful way to soak in one of the claw foot tubs.
You also can explore shops that are in walking distance from the Cottage. When you wake up in the morning, try the big ranch combo complete with port and chocolate. You can have it served in the fresh air on your private balcony, weather permitting.
For another type of experience stay at the Pendower House B&B which is a restored Victorian home. Enjoy the luxury suite that comes with a spa and modern amenities. However, you will want to check out the view as you will see lovely gardens. This Daylesford b&b will serve you a four course breakfast in the morning, which is included in the tariff.
Things To Do
There are so many things to see and to do here that it will be difficult to pack all of it in within a few days.
Going on right now through the first two weeks in October is the Tesselaar Tulip Festival where you can tiptoe through the tulips into a nice picnic spot where you can smell the flowers, experience the beauty and indulge yourself in wine tasting.
Also going on through the same period is the Fringe Festival which you will not want to miss. This is 19 days of events that include art, theater, cabaret, circus, music and much more. You will find this in Melbourne as well.
Starting October 30 and going through November 3, you will find the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz. This is exciting if anyone is into music because it attracts both local and international talent. You have the opportunity for wine tasting and you can go for a whole week or a weekend. Either way you will enjoy the festivities here.
When you stay at a bed and breakfast Daylesford, you will find it to be relaxing and fun so enjoy!

If you are staying on the Mornington Peninsula one of the great places to stay is in a Sorrento bed and breakfast. This is one of the most beautiful places on the peninsula.
Sorrento is actually outside Melbourne Victoria and is on the western tip of the peninsula. There is a big transformation it makes in the summer from a very quiet little village to an area frenzied with tourists as they come to enjoy the area as a summer resort town.
There are a variety of scenic walks you can do, ferry rides, historic buildings and you can even watch the dolphins. This is a great place if you want to get away and have some fun.
When you are there, staying at a bed and breakfast in Sorrento may be just the ticket if you want to have a romantic time or just get away from the city. There is a variety of accommodation from the traditional b&b in Sorrento to small apartments. As an example, the Bilinga B & B and Cottages give you the quiet you need and plenty to do for both you and the kids.
You’ll stay in a cottage and the kids will have a park they can play in while you relax in the scenic views as you relax on the beach. You can visit art galleries, the children maze or a local restaurant for gourmet food.
If you are more into a traditional stay, a good example is the Dougal’s Bed & Breakfast. This is a Victorian home that sits in the middle of many fabulous gardens. In the summer you can take your breakfast in the garden or you can take it in your room. In the wintertime, you can cosy up to a fire.
You will find lots to do in Sorrento and the surrounding towns. Central to the reason why people head here is because they have many natural attractions of interest. One of the most popular things to do here is the Dolphin tours. This is where you can get up close and personal with the dolphins and seals from around the island. You can just watch them from the boat or you can actually swim with them. This is an experience that many people say you will never forget.
If you enjoy fishing and want to make it part of your trip, you will definitely find Sorrento as a great place to go fishing. You can hire a charter near the same area where you take the dolphin tours. Here you will find shrimp and speckled sea trout, red bass, mackerel and many other varieties of fish; you can fish from shore or from the boat.
Depending on when you go to your bed and breakfast in Sorrento Victoria you will find many events happening. In the summer you will find the Crafts market that happens the fourth Sunday of every month. You will find local crafts and produce for great prices. In January, you will be encompassed in the Art Festival and you will find great pieces of famous work by global artists.
As the day comes to an end and you are watching the sunset, it is a great time to go back to your Sorrento bed & breakfast for some rest and renewal for another day.
