Running a Bed and Breakfast

Rightmoves UK has published a brief summary on running a bed and breakfast. It’s basic but gives some sound advice and should be of interest to readers.

Some of the main points are that a b and b is obviously easier to operate than a larger hotel and meals and organising the kitchen can be a much smaller affair.

The article also suggests buying an overseas bed and breakfast which may be a novel idea to most. A good suggestion is to buy a property with the capacity to add rooms at a later date as your bnb income will be dependent on how many rooms you can offer.

Free Thermal Imaging Offer

Hotels and bed and breakfast operators in the Fylde Borough Council area of the UK are being offered free thermal imaging photographs of their accommodation as heating takes up about 50% of the total annual energy bill of a typical business.

The surveys show where the heat is escaping and where insulation should be installed.

It would be good for some local councils to take note and initiate some green energy efficient help to Australian bed and breakfast owners.
