Some of the haunting stories you will learn about include Jack the Miner at the Convict Stockades, The Lady in Black who masquerades around Mt Victoria Pass and the cigar room full of ghosts at the Victoria & Albert House.

If you are really adventurous, and as a kid you dreamed about the circus you are in luck, especially if you thought about running away to join it. You can take a friend and actually learn to fly at the Flying Trapeze workshop. This is located in Sydney’s Homebush Bay in New South Wales. You will actually learn a position on the lower practice bar, and then get to try it out on the real flying bar. Great thrills are had by all!

If you are traveling in October, you’ll be there in time for the Griffith Festival of Gardens. This is a time when the small gardens around cottages let you come and peak in at what they are dong. This starts with the main street because it is lined with all types of citrus sculptures. You will also get to take part in activities and a festival dinner dance.

Tumbafest in January is another event that you won’t want to miss. This is an entire weekend of fun, entertainment and a chance to taste lots of different foods and wine. This is always the last weekend in February and provides music and other activities for the entire family.

When you want a step back in time then book a Byron Bay bed breakfast and experience a place where hippies hung out in the 60s and 70s, still retaining some of this atmosphere today. There are a selection of people from surfers to intellectuals walking the streets of Byron Bay and having involved conversations.

Located in New South Wales on the North Coast, you will find beauty and beaches all the way around. There are top restaurants where you can get delicious seafood and you can meet people from all over the world.

The Byron Bay bed and breakfast choices are varied and enable you to experience the area in a range of accommodation locales and styles. If you love the beach you can get to in from just about any location in just a short walk. You can explore Byron’s Hinterland by going to the top of it near the lighthouse. This will give you a view of 360 degrees around the Shire. Depending on when you go, there will be light plays and colorful sunsets. The Minyon Falls gives you a different perspective as you look out over the waterfall and the valley filled with palms. You can do a lot of this through hiking and walking around the area.

Just around the corner is the Crystal Castle where you can walk the Buddha Walk and see the statues, giant crystals, a Rainforest Walk and then stroll into the gift shop. Inside you will find many things to purchase to remind you of your trip.

There are many events also that you can experience depending on when you go. In September you will want to attend the Taste of Byron where you fill find all types of food that is served in neighboring restaurants. You will get a chance to taste and participate in cooking classes too. The Bluesfest and Whole Woman Festival will make sure that you get enough music in your soul. There are other programs beyond music at both of these events for everyone to enjoy.

The Yarra Valley is home to dozens of wineries and secluded bed and breakfasts where you can go to relax and unwind. Many bed and breakfast in the Yarra Valley have all that you need for a relaxing and pleasant stay.

When you stay in a Yarra Valley bed and breakfast there are many things to do locally in Yarra Glen. You can hop a ride on the Yarra Valley Railway for rides on old fashioned trains and trolley cars. If you go in October, particularly on Halloween you can ride the ghost train. Sugarloaf Reservoir Park is a great place for a picnic or a nature walk. Watch out for the eastern grey kangaroos or black-tailed wallabies that you will see throughout the park.

If you are going to stay in a b&b for a couple of weeks you might try a trip to the Historic Barn on the third Sunday of the month so you can buy fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, homemade breads and more. This can add a homey touch to your Yarra Valley experience.

There are a variety of wine tasting opportunities and generally any event you go to will have wine as a part of it. In February for Valentine’s Day you can enjoy the Grape Grazing Festival. This is something that is held all over the area at the local wineries bringing together food, wine and fun. The Festival starts on February 9 and continues until February 18.

If you go in October, travel along the Warburton Highway as the sheds of 15 wineries are opened for two days. During this time you can enjoy food, wine, music and entertainment. This is an annual event held during the second weekend in October. There is more to do during this time than you can imagine.
